Second Shelf Books

We’re a small Edmonton bookstore, and we pack and ship every order with care. Here’s how shipping, delivery, and pickup work when you shop with us.

Processing Time

Orders are prepared one (1) operational day after our team has received it. You’ll get an email when your order is ready for pickup, out for delivery, or on its way through Canada Post.

Shipping Across Canada

We ship using Canada Post. Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location and the size of your order.

Delivery estimates come directly from the carrier — we’ll always do our best to get your books to you quickly.

Local Delivery

Local delivery is free and available for purchases over $100CAD. Local Deliveries are made one (1) operational day after the processing times listed above. Local Deliveries are delivered to customer as per the delivery address and instruction's provided. 

Local Pickup

Prefer to pick up your books? Choose Local Pickup at checkout and we’ll email you when your order is ready.

Lost or Delayed Packages

Once an order has been handed to the shipping carrier, delivery timelines and handling are outside our control. Second Shelf Books is not responsible for packages lost or delayed due to carrier error or circumstances beyond our control.

Please ensure your shipping address is accurate at checkout. We are not responsible for lost packages resulting from incorrect or incomplete addresses provided by the customer.

If your package is missing or significantly delayed, contact us at info@secondshelfbooks.ca and we will assist you in initiating a carrier investigation.
